How a virtual visit for allergies works:

Our virtual care process is designed to be simple and convenient, providing you with expert healthcare from the comfort of your home. Whether you're dealing with minor symptoms or need guidance on a more persistent issue, our licensed providers are ready to help. Here's how easy it is to get started:

Step 1.
They will ask about your symptoms, and want a detailed review of your medical history including any factors or triggers, and any previous medications used.
Step 2.
You may be eligible to receive a same-day prescription; however, your doctor will meet with you to determine if you need additional testing.
Step 3.
They may also recommend potential treatment options, including over-the-counter and prescription medications.
Step 4.
They may offer allergen avoidance strategies on how to minimize exposure to allergens through lifestyle adjustments, etc.
Step 5.
They may need to do some additional allergy testing, such as skin prick tests or blood tests, to identify specific allergens.

Common questions you may have about allergies

Allergies are your body’s way of reacting to foreign proteins or substance AKA allergens. These proteins are generally harmless. However, your immune system often produces substances called antibodies and if you do have allergies, these antibodies may identify an allergen as harmful (even if it isn’t) thereby resulting in inflamed sinuses, airways, or skin.

Symptoms can include sneezing, itchiness, cough, chest tightness, anaphylaxis, runny or stuffy nose, watery eyes, swelling, hives, rash, or wheezing.

Not necessarily. Our doctors will meet with you to determine if a lab test is necessary based on your symptoms. However, you may need to visit a lab if your allergies are severe.

Allergies can affect anyone. No one is certain why some people are allergic to some allergens, while others are not; however, your genes and environment can be a factor. If you do have allergies, your immune response will be oversensitive and signal a chemical response and launch histamines. These chemicals then cause your allergy symptoms.
